Six Awesome Events in June

June 16 ~ Master Shucker & Caesar Throwdown – Chefs and bartenders from around the Kootenays will gather to compete for the “Master Shucker” and “Best Caesar” titles. Come taste, and vote for your favorite Caesar, taste some wine and eat some oysters.

June 21 ~ Kootenay Faith Fest 2019 – As spring turns to summer, United Church people from across the Pacific Mountain Region are invited to spend time with the network that was formerly Kootenay Presbytery – exploring community, relationship and covenant in our evolving church times.

June 22 ~ La FrancoFête – With La FrancoFête, AFKO wants to ensure that the French culture thrives in our community through interactive cultural and artistic activities. It’s a free event open to people from all ages and walks of life. Offering games, live music with local artists and workshops, AFKO wants to offer an entertaining event sharing French culture and language. This event will promote the following values: respect, inclusiveness and environmental responsibility. 

June 23 ~ 1st Annual Lemon Grind – The 1st annual Gerick Cycle Lemon Grind is just around the corner. The Full Squeeze course is 90 km and the Half Squeeze course is 46 km. Both are 99% gravel road so ride whatever bike you feel is fit…Gravel, Cross, Mountain ~ even E Bikes are welcome!

June 28 ~ Kootenay Burlesque Festival – Join us for a two night celebration of all things burlesque as we take you on a journey guaranteed to excite & delight you with our exquisite line up of exotic entertainment! We have some of the finest local and international performers from across the globe set to grace our stage, and each of them is eager to tease and please you with their tantalizing and titillating array of talents!

June 28 ~ Artwalk 2019 Opening Night – The Nelson and District Arts Council invites you to hit the streets and celebrate all things art for the 31st annual ArtWalk. With over 30 uniquely talented artists at 20+ venues there is so much to celebrate. Wander Baker Street and beyond, enjoying the art and roving performers.
